FREE EVENT FOR THE POLISH COMMUNITY

FREE EVENT FOR THE POLISH COMMUNITY:
‘How to be Happy!’
DATE: 07/02/2010: 9-5pm
VENUE: Leamington Spa Polish Catholic Mission, High Street,
Leamington Spa.

INFO: A community organised event, organised by the BME
Community Development Worker and the local Polish community.
A workshop orientated day from 9-5pm facilitated
by a Polish ‘Neuro Linguistic Programmer’ (NLP) to address issues
such as depression, anxiety, lack of motivation, self esteem
and goal setting. The event is a very positive step to the
community collectively taking action to help each other.
Food and drink will be provided on the day and good
attendance is anticipated.

Please leave any useful comments regarding the event and
any further ideas on how local well being services in the community
need to evolve in order to offer a good service to all the Polish
community. These comments will be fed into a new strategic
plan to improve local services which I will feed back on.

I heard about this event from my wife and I was very satisfied. It was very good because issues related to well being in the Polish community were raised. I think that this sort of meeting not only is good fun but is much needed in the community on a regular basis.

I became aware of this meeting via the organiser. I liked this meting very much and it will help me get stronger. I’m now looking at the world slightly differently and this session has definitely helped me to stop worrying about problems which are not the entire make up of my world.

I feel my future will be good and pleasant. I think it would be really good if this sort of meeting or event in the community could be organised again, regularly and soon.

This meeting with Marek the facilitator allowed me to experience a different view of the world. A view of the world that allows you to be happy in every instance - a positive view of life which has taught me and the whole group hopefully how not to waste time and to accept everywhere you are, and in in every moment in your life.

Nobody goes to the NHS with these problems from the Polish community. I think these workshops allow us to be in a group with Polish people and allow us to improve our well being through the techniques that Marek uses.

I heard about this from an acquaintance in the Polish community. I’m very pleased I had the opportunity to take part in this meeting. It had a very positive effect on my well being and I’m sure it will have a longer effect on the Polish community. I really hope there will be further meetings.

I heard about this through the organiser and overall I’m very pleased with how it went and we really need more of these events in the Polish community. Marek put forward some very different and often unique views on many different situations, but t all cane across as being really positive and I will feel really positive after today.

I think I’ll be able to deal with everything in my life. I feel I’m now able to change a lot of things in my life to make myself happier. I really think that events like this need to be more regular.

This event was all really positive! This session really allowed me to look at the world in a very different way. I’m very interested in attending more of these events for the Polish community. This is a really good beginning but I really think more has to be done by the NHS. It’s very difficult for Polish people to communicate effectively in English all the time and it’s also hard to get a translator. More events like this would teach society how to be happy and how to achieve happiness. I would be interested to see whether pregnant mothers might find this meting a good place to meet and chat.

Generally I’m very pleased with how this event went. I heard about it via a leaflet that I saw. I found the day very useful. These new techniques that were explained to us will allow me to look at people in different ways and allow myself to cut myself off from negative influences, from an emotional perspective.

I felt all the techniques that were shown to us were all relevant to the day’s subject of how to be happy.

I feel there are very few polish meetings like this in the Polish community if any at all. I felt this really is a first step into the Polish community pulling together collectively.

I really want more frequent meetings like this. I felt the facilitator was very well informed, prepared and well equipped with material. He gave us a lot of material on how to deal with situations

Issues regarding the Polish culture were raised at this event as were the private issues of individuals. Love, happiness, lack of faithfulness, marriage and relationships etc were all discussed.

I think events like this are a good investment and would get more popular in the future within the Polish community. The NHS is very good and it does help the Polish community.

The Polish community is very difficult when it comes to getting together, or people working together within the community. People are very individualistic and it’s usually really herd to organise something like this. Something really needs to be done to improve the communication and contact between the Polish people.

I was pleasantly surprised by this session. I felt the facilitator did really well.

Today’s meeting really brought me a different way of looking at the world around us. Much was explained e.g. why we behave the way we do and how do we deal with our weaknesses. I’ll give a great mark to the meting it was brilliant.

I would love to see more of these events taking place for the Polish community. They’re very important and very positive.

Very interesting. The issues of well being were raised and we were shown how to change our attitude in life. There should be more meetings like this as it is very hard to persuade Polish people to come to these sort of events because of all the stigma attached to it. Better publicity is needed foe these meetings and the idea of how to be happy needs to be raised more frequently.

Hi. This is Marek Gonda. I'm pleased I could satisfy your needs to some extend. I'm glad you liked the event although I'd love to hear from you some more feedback. Please tell me 3 things I should do more of, and 3 things I should do less of.

I'm also fancy to hear any negative feedback so it can give me opportunity to improve my skills and overall approach.

Many thanks for coming and hopefully see you next time!

Marek Gonda
