Exhibition -‘Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head’

A fantastic photography exhibition will be taking place
next Wednesday 5th August at The old library -
‘The Gallery’ in Leamington Spa. The exhibition entitled
‘Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head’ is a recent project
completed in partnership with The Early Intervention
Psychosis Team of South Warwickshire and the ever
reliable ground breaking Community Arts Workshop
in Leamington.

The project boasts a real success in using Direct Payments
in a contemporary and innovative way to work with diverse
communities and ages in relation to well being, identity
issues, culture, urban spaces and personal creativity and
expression. Food and much laughter will be provided on
the evening accompanied by a very thought provoking
exhibition.

Please feel welcome to leave any comments with regards
to the exhibition and the integral importance to working
with communities and individuals creatively.

What a fantastic event with some great photography. It was great to see so many people come forward from the community to appreciate the art that local people have put together. It show’s a great commitment from the local council to use Direct Payments innovatively and I hope this attitude continues.

I would also like to add that The Community Arts Workshop and al involved still prove to be facilitating and providing the best environment for communities to come forward and express themselves. I really hope this continues as it really needs to!

Brilliant photos!!
Fantastic work from the Early Intervention in Psychosis Team and their clients.
So nice to see an end product to all the hard work!

This would not have been possible without the Direct Payments scheme from Warwickshire County Council.

And the continued enthusiastic support from CAW (Community Arts Workshop) is invaluable

Excellent event, showcasing some very talented work from a diverse range of artists affected in various ways by mental health issues -hope it will be accessible for some time so that it reaches a wider audience, possibly to travel round to Coventry, Nuneaton etc.
Also an amazing venue which should be restored and opened up for public use.

what a great event.as an 'outsider'
i found it really fascinating, especially as the contributors have mental health issues.i can only feel that the opportunity like this to express themselves, without any pressure, will help.
congratulations to the organisers, the contributors and also those who made the funding available.

A totally inspirational event showcasing some amazing photograpghs taken by the Men's Group from the Early Intervention Psychosis Team.I especially liked the Manakins and the Urban images. It was lovely to see so many people there and to see people sharing their work with their families.

The fantastic art work, lovely food, great slide show and music all went towards making this a wonderfully creative space to be in.

I have since come home and done some sketching with my daughter, and what's more amazing is they look ok!

Thankyou so much to the men and those people at the Community Arts Workshop who encouraged me to have a go! Here's to a very successful and creative time ahead for all concerned.

A fantastic selection of photos from a group of talented individuals. It was a wonderful night and so good to see the community spirit. I know this was difficult for those running the project trying to collect the direct payments, but lets hope as time progreses the process will get easier and further art exhibitions opened. CAW provide a fantastic service in a wonderful environment, and it would be good to see further funding support to enable this facility to provide service to other community groups.
